The University of Kansas' Esports program, along with 7 flagship universities collaborate to form the Power Esports Conference. This conference will feature exclusively high-profile institutions and offer competition in four game titles for the 2024-25 academic seasons. Along with the University of Kansas, this conference includes The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Boise State University, Syracuse University, University of Nebraska, University of Southern California, and the University of Missouri.

Kansas Esports will remain a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and compete in both leagues. This news comes after Kansas was a member of NACE's self-select pilot conference program, a one-of-a-kind offering in NACE which allows schools to hand pick conference members.

The Power Esports Conference's competitive season will begin on September 23rd, 2024. Featuring a 7 week schedule in both the spring and fall the season caps off with an in-person championship that includes all eight member schools.
