Kansas Esports Fall 2021 Season


Kansas Esports had a successful start to their third season. With 24 total students across all three of the titles, Kansas Esports finished with a 31-16 fall record. Rocket League, Overwatch and League of Legends finished top 3 in their National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Starleague conferences, qualifying for playoffs.

Kansas Esports saw success in competition outside of NACE as well. League of Legends team finished top 16 in Collegiate League of Legends, finishing their fall season 12-8. League of Legends will compete in the Riot Games’ Collegiate League of Legends (cLoL) tournament in the spring. cLoL is the North American collegiate circuit. It includes several regional divisions, leading to the League of Legends College Championship.

Overwatch took first place in the local KCGameOn LAN tournament, wrapping up their 13-7 season. The Overwatch team competed in NACE Starleague competition and Blizzards Overwatch Collegiate Homecoming series. The team will compete in Blizzards spring 2022 tournament, leading to the collegiate Overwatch Championship.

Rocket League finished their fall season 8-1. The team had a top 8 finish in week 1 of the Collegiate Carball Association open. Rocket League finished the season with a 4-1 win over Mizzou Esports. This game was part of the HyVee Border Showdown.  Rocket League will continue with NACE competition in the spring, as well as attend qualifiers for Collegiate Rocket League (CRL).
